Overview.

The Legal Unit of Kairuki University (KU) serves as the principal legal advisor to the University, providing strategic, professional, and timely legal services to support the institution’s mission in education, research, and community service.

The Unit is committed to safeguarding the legal interests of the University by ensuring compliance with applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, regulatory frameworks governing higher education, and internal governance instruments.

Legal Unit functions.

1. Providing legal advice to the University Council, Management, and various departments
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU’s)
3. Ensuring institutional compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
4. Handling disputes, claims, and litigation involving the University
5. Supporting governance processes and policy development
6. Offering legal guidance on employment, procurement, partnerships, research, and student matters
